Aleppo soap, (laurel soap ), is a type made with olive oils or other vegetable oils. It is called so because the city of Aleppo is the oldest and most famous city in its manufacture in Syria.
Aleppo’s traditional soap is made from al-Mutarraf oil, an oil that is extracted again from the olive, after extracting the table oil from it in the first pressing.
When making Aleppo laurel soap, it is green in color and needs six months to dry, thus obtaining its brown color.
