Halawa With extra Pistachios
Halawa, It is a term from the Arabic that means sweetness.
It is a pastry composition based on sesame cream (tahini). In the Maghreb countries, the Halawa is known as “chamia” probably due to its origin in Syria Damascus (Cham).
Halawa has a dry, dense and crumbly texture and a mild sweet taste.
It is made simple, or with almonds, sesame, hazelnuts or, most popularly, with pistachios. It is served as a dessert or to accompany tea or coffee for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients: sesame tahini, sugar, vegetable oil, halawa extract, citric acid, vanilla, artificial flavors.
